FINAL EXAM
Due 6/15 Instead of an exam to end the year, I am ending it with a reflection. This will go into your gradebook as the Final Exam and count for 10% of your grade. CLASSWORK
Today we are looking at the results of the war, especially in Germany, Austro-Hungarian Empire, and Ottoman Empire. As always, I recommend taking notes in a way that works for you. CLASSWORK
Due 6/15 Today we are reading about the difficulties faced by the Central Powers and if they could have possibly been victorious against such odds. Reading: Plan:
Okay y'all. We're going deep into WW1 this week so get ready to talk about some really bad plans and a really ugly war. Additionally, as we get close to the end of the school year, make sure to have all of your assessments turned in. Missing assessments puts you at risk of losing credit for the semester. Turnitin: Go to turnitin.com and either log in or make a new account. If making a new account, just use the class info below when you are making a new account. If using an old account, choose "enroll in a new class" and use the class info below.
CLASSWORK
Today we are talking about why this war was so bad and what was so bad about it. Watch the lecture and follow along with the powerpoint. As always, I recommend taking notes in some way. Also the lecture is a bit too long today. I can't help but get sidetracked telling stories. If you don't have time, you can just stop the lecture early. Once I talk about trench warfare, nothing else is especially critical to your understanding. If you want to skip the 4 minute story that I tell about von Bredow's death ride, that would be a good skip too. CLASSWORK
Due 6/8 Work for 6/3 and 6/4 (cause its a bit long for 25 minutes). Today you are going to read the entire history of WW1. For reasons of time, we won't be able to go through the rest of the events of the war as in depth as we have gone through the beginning but this will give you a good idea how the fighting unfolded in its main theater. Readings: If you are really interested in World War One and want just as much information as possible, I highly recommend the YouTube channel "The Great War" and the old 1964 BBC documentary "The Great War" (real creative names, guys). The second one is kind of hard to find and super old-fashioned but I'm a big fan. CLASSWORK
Today we're talking about the war plans and the first month of WW1. Follow along with the powerpoint and as always I recommend taking notes in a way that is meaningful to you. CLASSWORK
