Due 6/15 Today we are reading about the difficulties faced by the Central Powers and if they could have possibly been victorious against such odds. Reading: CLASSWORK
Today we are talking about why this war was so bad and what was so bad about it. Watch the lecture and follow along with the powerpoint. As always, I recommend taking notes in some way. Also the lecture is a bit too long today. I can't help but get sidetracked telling stories. If you don't have time, you can just stop the lecture early. Once I talk about trench warfare, nothing else is especially critical to your understanding. If you want to skip the 4 minute story that I tell about von Bredow's death ride, that would be a good skip too. CLASSWORK
Due 6/8 Work for 6/3 and 6/4 (cause its a bit long for 25 minutes). Today you are going to read the entire history of WW1. For reasons of time, we won't be able to go through the rest of the events of the war as in depth as we have gone through the beginning but this will give you a good idea how the fighting unfolded in its main theater. Readings: If you are really interested in World War One and want just as much information as possible, I highly recommend the YouTube channel "The Great War" and the old 1964 BBC documentary "The Great War" (real creative names, guys). The second one is kind of hard to find and super old-fashioned but I'm a big fan. CLASSWORK
